PHOTOGRAPHY
I fell in love with pictures as a kid. My grandparents had dozens of albums under the coffee table and I would always look at them as though I had never seen them before. I would stare at the faces and imagine what they were thinking about in that moment. It made me appreciate the "capture".
I got my first camera from my Granddaddy. It was his old Poloroid. I was about seven. I got my first point and shoot in sixth grade. When I was fourteen, I helped my Dad take the photographs for his college’s course catalog. My baby brother was used as a model for the Health Education Department! We developed them in a dark room and watched our images come alive! This was 1979. I have been hooked ever since.
As a mom, I believe that taking family portraits is such an important job. Making permanent memories for someone is an honor and I take it very seriously. I want my clients to be thrilled when they see the final product! I want them to be shared for years to come.
GRAPHIC DESIGN
After spending hours trying to imitate my Dad’s hand lettering, drawings, and layouts, I found myself obsessed with all things design. When I was older I took a job in the advertising department of our local newspaper, doing ad layouts. I learned that I enjoy creating a clean, cohesive message with just the elements I was given. I loved that job. It was still in my heart when I chose my major 25 years later.
My style is very straight forward. It's tidy, concise, and always legible. The message should be front and center.

As a freelancer, I enjoy collaborating with entrepreneurs or non-profits. I want to create a brand that will represent them, their hard work, and the communities they wish to serve.
I graduated from Wake Technical Community College, in Raleigh NC, with my Associate's Degree in Advertising and Graphic Design.
